Education
Gabriela Bodden attended the Latin-American University of Science and
Technology (ULACIT) graduating with honors in 1998.
Specialization in Business Legal Advising from ULACIT in 1998.
Gabriela Bodden is a recognized expert in international trademark law. She
practices in the Intellectual Property Department focusing primarily on
trademark, copyright and patent matters, as well as advertising and legal
disputes. Ms. Bodden also counsels clients in the selection and registration
process of trademarks, the enforcement and registration of trademarks and
copyrights so as to add value to our clients IP portfolio and adding a significant
competitive advantage. She possesses vast expertise in the drafting,
preparation and filing of patent applications and in the analysis of invention
disclosures and making patentability and infringement options, in addition to
having prosecuted national and foreign patent applications in various fields.
She has extensive experience in dealing with complex international IP portfolios
throughout the Latin-American and Caribbean regions covering matters such as
clearance searches, trade mark filings, prosecution and maintenance of trade
marks (renewals, mergers, assignment and recordals of proprietor names and
addresses) legal advice in relation to license contracts, franchising contracts,
cautionary notices, advising clients on piracy matters and strategies in various
countries, initiating and completing opposition actions, law suits and office
actions before the respective Registries and Courts in various countries and
having practiced in the Caribbean for various years.
Gabriela has written and collaborated in writing chapters on trade mark
practice and procedure for various publications highly prized within the IP
field. She deals with a broad range of clients, in a wide variety of industries
such as automobiles, hotels, finance, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, beauty,
music, furniture, clothing, liquor and food businesses amongst many others.
